The Beginning

Welcome to The Support Team - the idea is to share dreams, make goals, and provide each other support and encouragement in reaching those goals. The concept of forming a support team comes from SARK and Barbara Sher who wrote I Could Do Anything If I Only Knew What It Was. Here's an excerpt from Barbara's book (page 207):

"Real Obstacles. Every wish has one - or two or three. You might not have the time or the money or the credentials or the know-how or the connections to do what you want to do. You might say you're the kind of person who doesn't stick to things, or who's just not confident enough to plunge right into a new life.

I'm going to make a suggestion now that could change your view of what's possible in this world for the rest of your life. I'm going to suggest that you get yourself the one thing that can surely help you surmont obstacles, the one thing that is the real secret to all success.

YOUR OWN SUCCESS TEAM

Isolation is the dream killer. Your boss makes you come to work, your teacher makes you do your homework, and your family makes you bring home the bacon. But when it comes to dreams - nobody makes you do them. If you never write that novel or visit South America or learn to play guitar, nobody is going to care. So nobody is going to push you. And all too often your dream goes unfulfilled."

In a Success Team "you'll tell me your wishes, and I'll tell you mine. And I'll help you and nag you until you've gotten your wish, and you'll help me and nage me until I've got mine. A Success Team is just a buddy system in which everyone helps each other go after their dream."

All the best with this project, it's a great idea. I've recently finished Barbara Sher's book "Refuse to Choose" - what a life changing book - helped me understand my identity as a scanner and boosted my confidence. Now the greatest obstacle between me and fulfilling my(many)dreams is lack of organisation!!
